A Legacy of Service
Founded in 1969 as a confidential hotline for teenagers, Hunterdon Helpline was created to provide a safe place for young people to seek guidance, support, and assistance with life's challenges. As the needs of the community evolved, the organization expanded its mission to serve residents of all ages, with a particular focus on individuals and families facing vulnerability or hardship.
Today, First Assist remains at the heart of Hunterdon Helpline's work. For more than five decades, it has served as a trusted source of information, referrals, and support, connecting residents with the programs, services, and resources available throughout Hunterdon County, the region, and the state. Through First Assist and other community-based initiatives, Hunterdon Helpline continues its longstanding commitment to connecting people with help, hope, and opportunities for a brighter future.
