Housing and Homelessness

In need of low-income housing? About to become evicted? Losing GA or EA? Call Helpline! Whatever your housing needs, let us help you navigate the resources to find the appropriate solution for you.

For more than 30 years, Helpline has operated a "Homeless Hotline." People experiencing homelessness can call the First Assist helpline when Social Services is closed to access shelter or information on warming or cooling centers. They will be directed to the appropriate sheltering agency as well as received important resources that could assist with ending their homelessness.

Our Next Door facility is the offical county Warming Center during code Blue Alerts and Cooling Center during Code Red Alerts.

For those on the precipice of homeless, Helpline works to prevent the vulnerable from losing housing through collaboration with other agencies, its own Workconnectivity and Literacy Services programs and other avenues to thwart homelessness and provide a sustainable plan for the individual and/or the family.
